Volunteering
Volunteering enables people of all ages from diverse backgrounds to become actively involved in the community while developing and learning new skills, or utilising existing skills.
Trained volunteers play an important role within OzPol by supporting clients through social contact, transport and by a variety of other means. the invaluable support provided by volunteers helps maintain clients quality of life.
Volunteers are supported through coordinated programs offering orientation, on-going training and supervision.
Volunteers can assist with activities such as:
Support Visits
Visiting clients on a regular basis and providing social support.
Residential Facilities-based Activities
Community Visitors Scheme and/or assisting clients and staff with recreational activities such as arts and crafts, sewing and music.
Friendly sitting
Providing in-home respite care for families and carers.
Transport assistance
Using their own vehicles to transport clients to shops, medical appointments and other outings.
